Kestrel is part of the split-sire golf litter from Otter Run Kennel. One of his littermates is Birdie, which had me thinking of bird names...so he is named after an American Kestrel, a bird local to Wisconsin! Kestrel immediately became very attached, and he loves to be so close he sits and stands on my feet. Kestrel is bold and curious, not afraid of many things. He spends most days playing with Legend, who has adopted him as a long-lost son, while making a wide array of noises to express ALL of his emotions. Kestrel is always happy, bombproof, and eager for a good head scratch. He loves to rub his face and body on me during or after a run - in fact, when I go up to snack the team or adjust a dog mid-run, Kestrel swings the team so that he can dive into my legs to rub his face into me with all of his weight, often knocking me over in the process. He is the only one in my kennel who can't stand his feet being touched. He screeches to the sky every time I boot his back feet, standing still for me while his husky timer ticks down. And forget about booting his front feet! If it was up to him, he would be a sled dog without both the harness and booties and just pull the gangline in his mouth.
